Welcome Aboard, Dr. Librodo!

­Back pain is the second most common human complaint after the flu. This, together with majority of orthopedic problems, can have significant impact on a person’s quality of life, although they are usually not life threatening. The prospect of making people’s lives easier was what first attracted Gerard Librodo, M.D. to orthopedics. Now, he brings a wealth of experience and specialized training to our community. He will be joining the Greenwood County Hospital by providing services in our Outreach Clinic Monthly. Dr. Librodo, M.D. will begin to see patients on June 13th and you can call his main office at 316-452-5113 to schedule an appointment. This offering in our Outreach Clinic will provide a convenient, local solution for our patients seeking orthopedic care.

 

As an orthopedic surgeon Dr. Librodo practices general orthopedics and specializes in spinal conditions and children’s orthopedics. He has subspecialty training in adult and pediatric spinal conditions such as slipped discs and lumbar spinal stenosis, scoliosis, back and neck pain, minimally invasive spine surgery as well as adult and kids’ fractures and sports related injuries. He performs a procedure called kyphoplasty which is a minimally-invasive procedure for vertebral compression fractures providing needed pain-relief to our patients.

 

Dr. Librodo graduated his medical school at the De La Salle University College of Medicine in the Philippines. He has trained extensively in the field of Orthopedic Medicine and served as Chief Resident at the Makati Medical Center in the Philippines. He did subspecialty fellowship training in Orthopedic Spine Surgery at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield, IL and Children’s Orthopedics at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center at Cincinnati, OH.

 

Dr. Librodo has studied with some of the foremost authorities in the field of Orthopaedic Medicine. He has attended numerous symposia and conventions, and has presented and published his own research on numerous occasions.
