Mark Basham, MD was born in Eureka, KS at the Greenwood County Hospital. He graduated high school from Eureka High School. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Marketing from Wichita State University. He then went on to receive a Masters degree in Counseling School Psychology also from Wichita State University. In 1997, he earned his Medical Degree from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine.

Dr. Basham completed his residency program at Smoky Hills Family Practice in 2000 specializing in family practice. He has previously owned his own family practice clinic. He has also worked for Greenwood County Hospital’s family practice clinic, Flint Hills Community Health Center, Inc. and has returned to work for Greenwood County Hospital in the Eureka Clinic.

Dr. Basham serves as the Medical Director for the Greenwood County Health Department. He is a preceptor for medical students from various medical colleges in Kansas and neighboring States as well as serving as a preceptor for physician assistant students. He enjoys teaching a new generation of upcoming doctors and providers. In addition to the above services he offers, Dr. Basham serves as a supervising physician for many of the nurse practitioners and physician assistants currently working at Greenwood County Hospital.

Dr. Basham is a life long resident of Eureka, KS and is proud to be a 3rd generation doctor in his family. He has three children, Abigail (Abby), Peter (Pete), and Nathanael (Nate). Dr. Basham enjoys remodeling his home and former practice clinic, golfing, avid walking, attending college sporting events and spending time with his adult children.

Nancy McKenzie was born in Yates Center, Kansas, and lived in Toronto, Kansas, until 1962, when her family moved to Eureka, Kansas. She graduated high school from Eureka High School. In 1974, she received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and History from Emporia State University. In 1976, she was certified as a cytotechnologist by the St. Francis Hospital Wichita School of Cytotechnology, and in 1980, she received a Bachelor of Physician Assistants Studies from Wichita State University.

Nancy has previously worked at: Lattimore-Fink labs in Topeka, Kansas, as a cytotechnologist; the Wichita Clinic (Eureka branch) as a physician assistant and surgical assistant; Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center as a physician assistant in the Emergency Room (ER); the Cancer Center of Kansas (Eureka branch) as a physician assistant; the Basham Clinic in Eureka as a physician assistant; Greenwood County Hospital as a physician assistant, surgical assistant, Infection Control Specialist (ICS) and ER provider, as well as serving as the hospital administrator on four separate occasions. 

Nancy has been married to Jay McKenzie for more than 35 years, and they have two children, Jacob and Kathleen. Nancy and Jay are long-time residents of Eureka.

In her spare time, Nancy loves to read, travel (especially to the beach), but mostly she just loves to spend time with family and friends. When asked about her extensive career, Nancy said, “I love my job, and I feel fortunate that I am still able to do what I love, take care of patients.”

Nik Ford was born and raised in Kansas. He grew up in Eureka and attended all of elementary and high school here. After high school, Nik attended Emporia State where he graduated in 2003, with a degree in Biology. He then attended Wichita State and completed his Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies in 2006.

He began his career in Family Medicine and worked in a Clinic/Hospital in-patient setting for the first two years then transitioned to Emergency Medicine.

He has been married to his high school sweetheart, Misty, for going on 20 years and have five kids – one daughter and four sons. They enjoy cheering on the KC Chiefs, KC Royals and WSU Shockers. In their occasion spare time, they all enjoy going hunting and fishing when they aren’t at one of their many activities. Nik says the most boring thing about him is he really enjoys watching the History Channel when he has the time.

Shawn Raymond was born and raised in Altoona, Kansas. He attended Labette Community College in Parsons for his ADN, LPN and Associate Degree in Nursing, went on to earn his RN, BSN, MSN and DNP all at Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas.

Shawn has worked in the ER, Primary Care, Acute Care, Psych Units, Surgery and Recovery, Intensive Care Unit and Cardiac Step-Down Unit but enjoys his field now in Family Practice and ER.

Shawn is married to his wife Bethany and they have three children, Cody, Tyler and Alexis. But the real fun started with his grandkids Charolette, Maddilyn Jo and Kingston. In Shawn’s spare time you will find him hunting, fishing or spending time with his family.

Michael Moore is an Emergency Nurse Practitioner certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board and a Family Nurse Practitioner certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. As a native from Kansas, Michael’s career in Emergency Medicine began as a paramedic graduating from Hutchinson Community College in 1995 providing prehospital care in a high-volume EMS service in Wichita for nearly 10 years.

Graduating from nursing school in 2004 from Wichita State University, he began his Emergency Nursing career at Via Christi St. Francis level I trauma center Wichita. With a drive to advance his education, he completed his nurse practitioner education in 2007 beginning his career at Via Christi Health. Michael has gained experience in many emergency departments both urban and rural.

Currently completing his doctorate degree at Wichita State University and enjoys working primarily in rural Kansas emergency departments. He enjoys advancing his skills in point-of-care emergency sono and teaching EKG interpretation to develop future advanced practice providers.  Michael also is active in national organizations volunteering his time as the regional director and state representative for the American Academy of Emergency Nurse Practitioners. Enjoys time with his family, grandchildren, fishing and traveling.

Jennifer Eagleson grew up and currently resides in Butler County and received her Associates Degree in Nursing from Butler County Community College, Master of Science in Nursing at Frontier Nursing University in Hyden, Kentucky.

Jennifer has an extensive nursing background including cardiovascular, labor and delivery, postpartum and critical care. As a nurse practitioner, her experience includes newborn to end of life, wound care, mobile provider primary care and palliative/hospice care.

She looks forward to getting to know her patients better in Greenwood County and the surrounding communities. Collaboration between patient and provider, providing education and forming trusting relationships to help build healthier lifestyles.

Jennifer is married to Travis and they have three girls. In her free time, Eagleson is busy spending time with her family at sporting events, being outside and working in flower gardens. Her two older girls are active in Butler County 4-H, basketball, volleyball and cross country – track.
