Mike McClintick, DO RPh ACOFP

Dr. Michael McClintick was born and raised here in Eureka, Kansas, and has dedicated his life and career to caring for the community he calls home. He and his wife, Linda, have been married since 1970 and are the proud parents of four children, one daughter and three sons, as well as grandparents to nine wonderful grandchildren.

Dr. McClintick graduated from Eureka High School before completing his Pre-Pharmacy studies at Emporia State University. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Kansas School of Pharmacy in 1975, then went on to complete his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at the University of Health Sciences – Kansas City College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1979.

He completed his first-year residency with Riverside Hospital and Pediatrics at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita. In 1989, he achieved his ACOFP Board Certification in Family Practice.

Throughout his career, Dr. McClintick has been committed to educating future healthcare professionals. His teaching affiliations include:

• Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences (KCUMB) – Rural Preceptor, Associate Professor in Family Practice
• Wichita State University – Associate Professor in the Physician Assistant Program
• University of Kansas School of Medicine – Rural Family Practice Preceptor

He is also actively involved in several professional organizations, including the American Osteopathic Association, Kansas Association of Osteopathic Medicine, American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, Bi-County Medical Society of Greenwood and Butler Counties, and the Kansas Foundation for Medical Care, where he serves as a Peer Review Physician for the State of Kansas.

Dr. McClintick has been published through the University of Kansas School of Medicine for his work titled “Human Adjuvant Disease Secondary to Spontaneous Rupture of a Silicone Gel Silastic Breast Implant.”

Dr. McClintick has proudly provided family medicine care to Eureka since 1980. During his tenure at Greenwood County Hospital, he served as Chief of Staff from 2012–2013 and was the long-time Emergency Room Physician and Department Head from 1980–2013. His leadership played a key role in establishing the hospital as a Level IV Trauma Center.

He is honored to hold two significant Governor’s appointments:

• Kansas Board of Pharmacy – K-TRACS Advisory Board
• State of Kansas – Advisory Committee on Trauma

Outside of medicine, Dr. McClintick enjoys hunting, fishing, and photography, passions that reflect his deep appreciation for Kansas and the great outdoors.

Joe “Rob” Hutchison, MD

Mark Basham, MD

Mark Basham, MD was born in Eureka, KS at the Greenwood County Hospital. He graduated high school from Eureka High School. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Marketing from Wichita State University. He then went on to receive a Masters degree in Counseling School Psychology also from Wichita State University. In 1997, he earned his Medical Degree from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine.

Dr. Basham completed his residency program at Smoky Hills Family Practice in 2000 specializing in family practice. He has previously owned his own family practice clinic. He has also worked for Greenwood County Hospital’s family practice clinic, Flint Hills Community Health Center, Inc. and has returned to work for Greenwood County Hospital in the Eureka Clinic.

Dr. Basham serves as the Medical Director for the Greenwood County Health Department. He is a preceptor for medical students from various medical colleges in Kansas and neighboring States as well as serving as a preceptor for physician assistant students. He enjoys teaching a new generation of upcoming doctors and providers. In addition to the above services he offers, Dr. Basham serves as a supervising physician for many of the nurse practitioners and physician assistants currently working at Greenwood County Hospital.

Dr. Basham is a life long resident of Eureka, KS and is proud to be a 3^rd generation doctor in his family. He has three children, Abigail (Abby), Peter (Pete), and Nathanael (Nate). Dr. Basham enjoys remodeling his home and former practice clinic, golfing, avid walking, attending college sporting events and spending time with his adult children.

Nancy J. McKenzie, PA-C

Nancy McKenzie was born in Yates Center, Kansas, and lived in Toronto, Kansas, until 1962, when her family moved to Eureka, Kansas. She graduated high school from Eureka High School. In 1974, she received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and History from Emporia State University. In 1976, she was certified as a cytotechnologist by the St. Francis Hospital Wichita School of Cytotechnology, and in 1980, she received a Bachelor of Physician Assistants Studies from Wichita State University.

Nancy has previously worked at: Lattimore-Fink labs in Topeka, Kansas, as a cytotechnologist; the Wichita Clinic (Eureka branch) as a physician assistant and surgical assistant; Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center as a physician assistant in the Emergency Room (ER); the Cancer Center of Kansas (Eureka branch) as a physician assistant; the Basham Clinic in Eureka as a physician assistant; Greenwood County Hospital as a physician assistant, surgical assistant, Infection Control Specialist (ICS) and ER provider, as well as serving as the hospital administrator on four separate occasions. 

Nancy has been married to Jay McKenzie for more than 35 years, and they have two children, Jacob and Kathleen. Nancy and Jay are long-time residents of Eureka.

In her spare time, Nancy loves to read, travel (especially to the beach), but mostly she just loves to spend time with family and friends. When asked about her extensive career, Nancy said, “I love my job, and I feel fortunate that I am still able to do what I love, take care of patients.”

Shannon Barus, APRN-C

Carey Hurt, APRN-C, FNP, WCS-C, EDS-C

Born and raised in Grenola, Kansas, Carey is proud to call rural Kansas home. Her nursing career began after earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Emporia State University in 1997. Carey spent the first 17 years of her career serving the Greenwood County community, with 15 of those years dedicated to Home Health at Greenwood County Hospital. She also spent time at the Greenwood County Health Department and took a year away from nursing to care for her son during a serious illness—an experience that deepened her compassion and perspective as a provider.

Carey completed her Master of Science in Nursing at Wichita State University in 2013 and went on to spend more than a decade providing primary care at the Moline Community Rural Health Clinic in Elk County. In June 2025, she returned to Greenwood County Hospital, bringing her expertise back home to serve as our Wound Care Specialist. She holds advanced certifications in wound care and debridement, allowing her to provide comprehensive, evidence-based treatment for patients with acute and chronic wounds.

Carey’s approach to patient care is deeply influenced by her Home Health background. She prioritizes practical education, helping patients understand how to manage their health concerns realistically at home and in their daily lives. Her goal is always to empower patients, support healing, and improve quality of life through compassionate, individualized care.

Carey has been married to her husband, Shawn, for over 30 years. They have two children and two grandchildren—being a “Gaga,” she says, is one of the greatest joys of her life. Outside of work, Carey enjoys plants, walking, reading, and treasure-hunting through thrift shops.

A rural girl through and through, Carey feels it is a privilege to care for the same communities where she was born, raised, and continues to live.

Gale Crouch, APRN, FNP-C

Originally from South Korea, Gale, APRN, FNP-C, has proudly called Eureka, Kansas home since 2000. Over the past two decades, she has grown with this community, raised a child here, and learned directly from the dedicated physicians who have long shaped local healthcare. Those experiences, combined with the relationships she has built, are what make Eureka feel like family to her.

As a Nurse Practitioner, Gale brings a patient-first approach to every interaction. She believes that truly listening, offering reassurance, and providing thoughtful, evidence-based care are essential to helping patients feel supported. For Gale, the most meaningful moments are the quiet ones, a heartfelt “thank you,” a patient who feels heard, or someone leaving feeling just a little better than when they arrived. Her commitment is simple: she will always do everything she can to help her patients heal, feel confident in their care, and know they are not alone.

Gale is married and has one child. When she is not caring for patients, she enjoys relaxing with a good movie, spending time outdoors on walks, and appreciating the simple joys of everyday life.

Kelly Odell, APRN

Shawn Raymond, DNP

Shawn Raymond was born and raised in Altoona, Kansas. He attended Labette Community College in Parsons for his ADN, LPN and Associate Degree in Nursing, went on to earn his RN, BSN, MSN and DNP all at Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas.

Shawn has worked in the ER, Primary Care, Acute Care, Psych Units, Surgery and Recovery, Intensive Care Unit and Cardiac Step-Down Unit but enjoys his field now in Family Practice and ER.

Shawn is married to his wife Bethany and they have three children, Cody, Tyler and Alexis. But the real fun started with his grandkids Charolette, Maddilyn Jo and Kingston. In Shawn’s spare time you will find him hunting, fishing or spending time with his family.

Michael Moore, APRN

Michael Moore is an Emergency Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board. A Kansas native, Michael brings nearly 30 years of healthcare experience to the emergency care setting.

His career began in 1995 after graduating from Hutchinson Community College as a paramedic. He went on to provide prehospital care with Sedgwick County EMS for nearly a decade and gained additional experience as a flight medic with EagleMed.

Michael completed his Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Wichita State University in 2004 and began his Emergency Nursing career at Via Christi St. Francis, a Level I Trauma Center in Wichita. Driven to advance his education and expand his role, he earned his Master of Science in Nursing in 2007 and began practicing as a Nurse Practitioner in the Via Christi emergency department. Over the years, he has worked in numerous emergency departments across both urban and rural Kansas, gaining a broad and valuable perspective on patient care.

In 2023, Michael earned his Doctor of Nursing Practice from Wichita State University. He now practices primarily in rural Kansas emergency departments, where he enjoys advancing his skills in point-of-care emergency ultrasonography and teaching EKG interpretation to support the development of future advanced practice providers.

A strong advocate for advanced practice nursing, Michael has served in leadership roles with national organizations, including regional director and state representative for the American Academy of Emergency Nurse Practitioners.

Outside of work, Michael enjoys spending time with his family and grandchildren, restoring vintage automobiles, fishing, and traveling.
